you're a criminal, as long as you're mine

So a few things happened last week. I moved into a new apartment, I saw Girls live at Bowery Ballroom, and I learned that Aviva makes the best bloody marys I have ever had in my life.

Two out of those 3 things will be semi-captured in this post.

Girls tee (I couldn't resist, I have wanted one desperately since I saw Marisa's this summer! OBSESSED WITH IT) I was gonna croptopify this jazz, but i just wor it tucked in. I don't think it will escape my scissors of fury though. It is sorta imminent.
Also pictured: Vintage velvet bowtie (kinda wanna start wearing them on tees like this) , new bathroom.

Question: How do we feel about bringing back a witchy striped sock? It is verrrrry 8th grade (that is, ME in 8th grade) but it felt like the only correct leg option for such an outfit. It's also very "Ricky's Halloween costume" but...I like them right now! Sowwy.

Lazy day..lazy eye??!
I swear to Gaga, my eyeballs are totes regs when I am looking straight ahead. That right one just goes rogue when I look to the side. So hot, I know.

scorpio eat scorpio

Happy Birthday, Marie Antoinette ! Happy Day of the Dead, Mexico ! Happy full moon, werewolves and the criminally insane!

the face of an adult (?)

Oh and...
It's my birthday, today?

How did that happen?
Another year older (ew), not too sure about wiser.. (Eh, overrated.)

I can unequivocally say that the past 365 days have been unlike any other in my entire life.
The biggest ups and downs and sad and happy and crazy and fun and carefree and worrisome and exciting moments of my life so far, TRUESTofFAX.

I can't decide if I am sad to see it end or relieved to put it behind me...mabes a bit of both?

Well anyway.
Here's to SCORPIOS, the sexy assholes of the zodiac.
I intend to have a pretty good day.

you've got that certain something

FALL INSPIRATION IS UPON ME. it better be, it's gettin cold up in here.
after spending a good ten days watching/twittering/texting/facebooking (remind me to slap myself later) about the"cryin" video by aerosmith:

i have finally fully formulated my fall vibe: neo-grunge silverstone.
i bought this skirt the other day and it sort of cemented everything in my brain..plaid flannel mini with a black tulle overlay? SOOOO NEO GRUNGE! sometimes f21 steps it up.

clicklclicklclick

the full silverstone would be to wear this with my combat boots or those wood-heeled docs, but this is the alternate- clogs? i am so into it!

i feel like grey ribbed tights might be the fulltime must for this fall, for me at least. they look weird good with everything.
baggy crocheted sweater thing, free tweed coat (needs buttons, i'm getting to it EVENTCH). today's outfit is just the START, i need to perfect this jazz.

things i need to LIVE THE DREAM:
flannel shirts that i like (i have ONE from this summer's thriftventures)
a perfect ratty denim skirt?
THOSE DOC BOOTS
...a bellybutton barbell?
stephen dorff
dramatic bungee jumps
a boy who will get half heart tattoos with me?

alas, the perfect flippy 1990s LA hair shall never be mine, not in the cards. i will have to be satisfied with (to quote molinga from earlier today) "silverstone by way of beetlejuice" because....that's my lot in life.

the future always looks good in the golden land

summer summer summer vacation is coming (more on that laters) but i will be west coastin' it for a bit and i am starting to get really amped.

a certain lunatic who gives me headaches/808s/heartbreaks/etc. read me a bunch of essays by joan didion recently and i keep thinking about them. so i'm reading and rereading slouching toward bethlehem and still thinking the 60s were really my era.

books, guys.

feeding my addictions

so if you care about these things like I DO (and i want you to, i do i dooo), you know by now that fabien baron & karl templar are out at interview magazine and the M/Ms & joe mckenna are in.

i know, that didn't last very long. well, we got about 7 great issues out of it.

ok, sadface BUT:
i am totally BEYONDDDD excited to see the NEW new interview, i mean i die for fab but i die for the M/Ms too (i loooove what they do at arena homme +, among a bjillion other thangs)

their first cover popped up on the internets yesterday:

they hit the archivez and brought the logo back to the seventies era of interview, i was instantly reminded of the january 79 capote cover:

..actually the 70s aesthetic of interview is SUUPER m/m steez, lots of cut paper scribble collage-y ness:

quite a departure from the cold future fashion covers that fabby fabz was giving us, i will miss it:

but change is good, no?
