This is the hood of an old parka covered in fur scraps. Purchased for $5 in Kansas City on this summer's Vision Quest. It matches the fur collar of my coat perfectly. The overall effect is very FASHION YETI.
I lasted about 25 minutes outside last night. You would think that having lived approximately 98% of my life on the east coast I would have some sort of snowppropriate footwear. You would think wrong.

I got this orangey dream number this weekend in North Carolina. I cut about 300 inches off of it as "maxi" and "midge" don't go so well together. I can't remember the name of the store and I am ok with that, as the prices were somewhat WACK. But this DRESS..it was calling me and I couldn't say no! You understand.

It's freakishly warm in NYC today so i went for tights full of holes. I think they're wool Wolford crochet, they're sort of great.
They look like rattan furniture from the Golden Girls' lanai (win, obvs).
I forget about these old Steve Madden fake Chloé black stompers..I wear the brown ones almost every day but the black ones get no love. I cut their tongues out cuz I'm a fashion sadist. Plus then they look like mary-janes.

i just got the sad news about john hughes and i can't believe it.
i saw the breakfast club for the first time when i was about 7 (my parents were pretty LAX on thewhole ratings for movies thing), when it came out on videoand watched it about 400 million times. i still know the dialogue verbatim (we all do).
like most of us that were kids in the 80s (old lady alert) the breakfast club, 16 candles, ferris bueller, pretty in pink, and my all-time fave: some kind of wonderful were like...on permanent VHS rolls. slumber party staples, afterschool imperatives.
i watched this movie every day in 8th grade. forget TWILIGHT, this shit is the realdeal highschool love story to crush out on, best kiss ever:

this is the longest i have ever gone without posting! it feels wrong and weird and lame. MY APOLOGIES! i think i need a day to get my brain back in working order, i haven't been in new york in almost 2 months and i have filled my parent's apartment (aka my new place to live, SO CHIC AT MY AGE!) with 9000 plastic bags from the thrift stores of the nation.

a certain lunatic who gives me headaches/808s/heartbreaks/etc. read me a bunch of essays by joan didion recently and i keep thinking about them. so i'm reading and rereading slouching toward bethlehem and still thinking the 60s were really my era.
