Today is THE DAY!
What day, you ask? The day, my dear friends, that THIS GUY:
My dear old SX-70 land camera, purchased in college for $40 at the height of my Charles & Ray Eames obsession*, will finally be PUT BACK TO WORK.
How's that?
POLAROID FILM IS BACK!
The Impossible Project, who took on the task, has done the impossible and saved analog instant joy.
It's called PX SilverShade / First Flush
Right now it comes in 100 & 600 ASA, and is only sepia and B&W but color is coming by the end of the year! The film is universal for any working Polaroid camera that uses the battery pack film (SX70s and 600s are the best).
Are you happy happy and full of joy?
I AM.
It's $22 bones for 8 frames but I don't wanna hear ya complaining. You can order it on their site starting today.
The darkslide comes with secret messages!
Before it develops, the film is YVES KLEIN BLUE!
It's delicious. I am high on life.
Time to make some magic.
THANK YOU IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT!!!!!
PS: *watch this movie!!!!

hello blogtown, my old friend
HAPPY FIRST MONDAY OF THE FUTURE, YOU GUYS! HI.
How was your New Year's? Mine was inebriated and late. I spent the next 3 days in pajamas with my sister and assorted friends watching The Hangover, a Buffy marathon, and a lot of 90210.
I have missed blogging, but I also feel a little bit..uninspired? And I don't want to write about nothing, nothing, tra la la.
But here is something! Recent acquisitions aka Christmas Presents & Rediscovered Loves.
This was one of the best Christmases I have had in a while, I don't know why but it was. Most of the time parental gifts can be a bummer (especially once you are OF A CERTAIN AGE) but this year, Moms & Dad tooootally went next level and surpirsed me with stuff i have menttioned offhand throughout the year. WHAAAAAT..that never happens!
Fashion Snob Warning- Items below may be weirder brands than you expect. Exciting!
This bag was something I saw randomly in a magazine and thought it was the perfect size and vintage-yness..I love beat up brown leather and I LOVE handles & straps together. I was kind of..perplexed to realize it was LUCKY BRAND (????) but still..I thought it was kinda dope? And mentioned it one day while chatting with the Moms and..there you go. Surprise cute thoughtful gift!
I really love it. It looks vint, feels like i have had it for years, fits a ton of crap (I think I can cram my laptop in there, if need be) and kinda perfectly brown.
The assorted charms that I have had for years that get moved from bag to bag:
A rabbit's foot from Las Vegas, 2001.
A lucky penny from no idea where
An Elizabeth license plate from my sister (she used to always gets me one when she went somewhere)
A little suede coin purse, a green heart charm from the 99 cent store
Prada dagger key chain..I loved these so much when they came out. I still regret not getting a Prada Robot!

BROWN LEATHER SATCHEL // LUCKY BRAND (I KNOW)
SKY HIGH OXFORDS // MICHAEL KORS
DIAMOND TIGHTS //AA
BUBBLE SKIRT // MARC BY MARC FALL 2005

HEY, WHEN DID I BECOME JUERGEN TELLER?
(MICHAEL KORS TOWNSEND OXFORDS)
Tbonz got me these shoes after I tried them on at our Mall Day Extravaganza of late 09. They are so dope. They have a layer of ACRYLIC. like...why? I don't know, but I am enamored. They are VERY HIGH and maybe i am not wearing heels as much, but I tried to wear them on a drunk night out recently and was..like a geisha. Will resolve this in 2010.
THIS SKIRT CAME WITH MATHCING SUSPENDERS. MUST FIND, HERE SOMEWHERE?
Cream diamond pattern crochet-y American Apparel tights from my cousins, i have been contemplting their purchase right before the holiday, PSYCHIC CONNEX !
THIS IS WHAT I LOOK LIKE WHEN I SPEND A LOT OF TIME ALONE.
OMGhilarious/awesome Alert: THE THREE WOLVES HOWLING TEE, of assorted internets & Dwight K Schrute fame. Also a gift from Cristina, OBVI. Might croptopify, might not. We shall see.
Shopped my storage and found a few long lost friends:
ENORMOUS DARK GREEN CHLOÉ 'EDITH'
Oh HELLO, DEAR OLD FRIEND. It seems like only yesterday (Summer 07) that I had a fairytale Paris vacation, complete with early dawn drunken Room Service French-fry orders at the Crillon and slightly drunken daytime shopping at Chloé. It was SOLDES, OKAY? Shit was a STEAL. (Sometimes I miss making monay...). PS, this bag could fit Tavi inside of it. Maybe me if I attended Yogilates more frequently (read: AT ALL). Good to know that if my $$$ situation gets ay worse, I can always live in this.
MUCH LIKE SOME SORT OF JAPANESE TEENAGER, I LOVE A JANGLE TANGLE OF ACCESSORIES ON MY ACCESSORIES.
Other favorites that find their way onto most of my bags (altho i keep them on this one pretty permanently):
Mr Green Beads homemade Alligator key chain: 25 cents, Virginia garage sale.Prada dagger key chain..I loved these so much when they came out. I still regret not getting a Prada Robot!
A SMALL GLIMPSE INTO THE SURPRISINGLY TIDY BLACK HELLMOUTH THAT IS MY CLOSET. ALSO, I LOVE THESE BOOTS DEARLY.
These Prada ankle boots made a BLOG DEBUT in my Targarte Rodarte post, but they deserve some singular adulation. I bought them in..2006? can't really remamber. They are possibly the best classy stompers a girl can own. Ask my sister, she has a pair (in dark brown, and worn to shreds). They are high but totally walkable and comfortable enough for an entire night of revelry. I LOVE YOU, PRADA ANKS. TRUE, DEEP LOVE.
ALSO RECEIVED FOR THE DAY OF BABY JESUS, BUT DEEMED UNPHOTOGENIC: A Flip. Whoa. VLOGGING in OH TEN? We. Shall. See.
PS..I was interviewed by ILIKEMYSTYLE over the christmastimes..Check it out here. Thanks, Nika!

laters for you, oh nine
All I remember about last NYE was that Brendan did the Single Ladies dance and Ivan played the Seinfeld theme song at midnight. Other than that it was a wash, but the best thing about New Year's ( I guess) is that there is always another one! Tonight I shall tip my champs to another year past, and be thankful for the great friends that I have.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So...what's your resolution? Tell me! Lemme live vicariously through you.
xo
